Meg Sprouster
Meg Sprouster is a contemporary, acrylic artist working in Albury NSW. Her love of birds especially moorhens began with her plein air painting in a local wetland area called ‘Browns Lagoon’. The birds and the landscape of this wetland area became the theme for her Girst solo exhibition in Sydney called "The space between". Meg frequently travels within Australia and overseas. The changing light at different times of the day, seasonally and with changing weather conditions alert her to the land preparing itself. This air of expectancy, of shared experience and survival as it unfolds in the landscape is what she feels motivated to capture in her paintings. "I feel at one with the land in a primal way in this shared time, when time itself seems to elongate and is replaced with remembered experiences and emotions. Time is transgressed...I am always surprised at what surfaces."
