'This artwork represents and experience I had and the messages sent to us through Mother Earth.
One Sunday, in an uneasy state, I sat at the river sharing my thoughts, emotions, vulnerabilities and experiences with members of our women's group. I felt at cross-roads, unsure of where I was going and what was meant for me. And then, I was blessed with the sight of hundreds of birds flying above us. They sang from the skies, calling our attention, telling us that all would work out. We stopped, paused, for five minutes or more as they circled above us.
The birds, calling their final calls, returned to the trees as the sun moved across the morning. The air, gathered the warm heat of a closing summer and wind settled softly, kissing our cheeks and blowing softly through our hair - our ancestors kissing us, and too telling us, all would be alright.'
